we were with the welcome, service and food/drink today.
We had travelled from Oxford to see our daughter (currently
at Kings) and she wanted to get out of Cambridge into the
country for a quick bite and some time with her parents
before getting back to the library.
Your front-of-house welcome was brilliant - a very personable
and attentive representative, who recognised that we wanted
something quick and, given the weather, al fresco. He was
faultless and a very engaging welcomer.
Glasses of chilled wine and fishcakes and salad arrived,
beautifully prepared and tasting delicious. Lovely ambience
on your patio area, comfortable furniture and served with
style.
We will definitely come again - next time with more time
- and spread the word about how your establishment really
does reflect a passion for detail in the experience you

"What an amazing, beautiful place, I stumbled across
the George Inn with a friend when I was visiting from London.
We were taken back by the friendliness and cosiness of the
place, everyone was so polite and helpful. Something that
is seriously lacking in London.
We were fortunate to visit on a Saturday evening when the
weather was wonderful; we sat outside and relaxed with a
few drinks in the warm and peaceful evening.
As it started to get chillier we moved inside and took up
residence on one of the many comfortable sofas and could
just imagine the fire roaring away in the winter.
Everything from the front of the Inn to the toilets were
immaculate and just added to the wonderful ambience of the
Inn.
Unfortunately we didn't eat there, but the landlord (who
is possibly one of the friendliest landlords in England)
made the effort to come outside and make sure we had everything
we needed and would we like any food. I took note of the
menu and can guarantee we will be coming back.
Since my visit, I’ve told many people about the George
Inn and when my mum comes down to Cambridge, we will most
definitely be making a visit.
One of the things that made the George even nicer was the
fact that sometimes you expect like that to be a local Inn
and not to take kindly to younger people. I am 26 and was
treated with as much respect and friendliness as the next
person.
Would just like to thank you for a wonderful, lovely evening.
Definitely a 10/10 and a place to remember and return to,
no question about it!"
